Javanese Head Ornament

This enormous ceremonial head ornament is silver plated brass set with faux gemstones. The design is very interesting in that it draws on Majapahit Era fertility motifs. These motifs were used to decorate key features of temple architecture such as doorways and roof gables. I did not buy it, but it was fun to get a close look at!
