IMG_2717 Old protective camel bone amulets on their beaded chains from Sidamo/Arussi areas, Ethiopia

These chains are worn with two camel bone amulets decorated with protective eye symbols. The clicking of the bones are supposed to chase bad spirits away.

    It has a double  purpose, for protection against evil as well as for fertility, as blue is the color fertility in Ethiopia.  They are worn as long chain which should reach at leas till the knees sothat the movement of walking makes the clicking of the two amulets.
