IMG_1073-1 a collection of Ethiopian silver prayer necklaces.

Here three old silver prayer necklaces. far left from Jimma, (like the enlarged silver Jimma beads, middle Wollo with the lovely silver hollow rounded beads( most of the time the good silver ones are damaged because of it good silver content, with a variety of antique Italian and Tjechian glass beads. The one on the right a Wollo in only silver and its common ending. All good silver, and original they all should have a generous tassle hanging mostly of black silk threats. But most of the time those have been eaten away.

    Dear Eva and Betty, It is always so nice to see your ladies enthusiasme and love of my Ethiopian collection.  Thank you for your constant support. Compared to many other countries it is a lot less ornate, but that makes it also so much more wearable for daily wear. Also through you  and this site I have come to understand the origine of the shapes and realise how closely countries are connected without borders because of the brave traders. Gr. Ingrid.
