A dome of silver
Vintage silver hinged and domed African Berber bracelet with intricate filigree work and niello shading. Bought in Morocco. Flowery lilly-like motifs on the raised dome, continued on the two side domes. A big beautiful bracelet. Rather impressive and heavy at 96 grams. No clear clues as to its exact provenance. Heavily hallmarked. Two clear French Crab hallmarks, making it later than 1838 and at least 800 Sterling silver. A third hallmark to the right that we cannot place, nor find in the official French list of known hallmarks. To the far left of the macro shot a fourth small hallmark and a fifth tiny hallmark, both unidentified. The bracelet is oval shaped and hinges on the side, opening more than 180 degrees. Linking pin and connecting chain are original. Some sign of wear. Professionally cleaned by a goldsmith and overall in a beautiful condition.
