  • Gorgeous, Ingrid! I love the wear on them and the warm glow.

  • Thank you Betty, I put them here just to show that Ethiopia and Somalia does have these beads in their ethnic wear. Gr. Ingrid

  • Ingrid, you have such a wonderful collection.  It is so kind of you to share it -- I think just your photos are now the best resource on Ethiopian silver jewelry available for free on the web.  I love these soft glowing beads.

  • they are really lovely, if I had seen them without description, I would have put them to Yemen. It is really good that you Show These items and others in order to take away some false ideas. Many pieces that you showed in the past, would not have been credited to Ethiopia, so this helps a lot to correct some mistakes.

  • Thank you Eva and Lynn, I hope I am making headway in getting Ethiopia on the map .  Gr. Ingrid.

  • nice and very old pieces, as a fanatic of clean jewelry, you cleaned them until shining :-)

  • Yes Ait, you know me, although they were cleaned  about 20 yrs. ago and have been kept in a box ever since they still are and look old. Dirt doesn't make them look old or give them their softness.  But this is my personal opinion.  never mind.  Gr. Ingrid.

  • Dear Ingrid. First if all, the beads look gorgeous. I fully agree with you. I always and carefully clean my jewelry from the dirt but leaving most of the patina. When softly cleaning the items one discovers many otherwise hidden patterns, repairs (which I love to see on jewelry that really "lived"). Also, in my opinion, jewelry deserves to be clean. But then again this is my opinion. Regards. Peter
PS: Many of my posted jewelry's photos have been made when I bought them (photos were made for custom purposes), hence, before softly cleaning them.
  • Thank you Peter, good to know I am not the only.  Like you wrote it is up to the individual how one enjoys their pieces best. Gr. Ingrid.
