I believe that this chest ornament is for men as per the photo below. A rare, extremely large and heavy piece - over 30cm long!

Peter, the wealth of your collection is a never ending source of great surprises!!. You should give a serious thought to opening a museum.

Many thanks for your comments Berberia - much appreciated. I love this particular piece very much. It is very chunky, of great quality and execution ... and simply very unusual and special...
I am currently cleaning and polishing (almost hanging myself on it ... and soon also the belt!!!) a belt from Montenegro - old, intricate and extremely unusual. I will post this afternoon once I have figured out how to take a photo of it... With kind regards. Peter
