  I find these at the least very interesting and in a way exciting - ultimately perhaps a bit too ornate for me personally, particularly because I'd rather see them as crowns than bangles. But ... thanks for posting!

  They end the sleeves of clothing like textile cuffs would.  I have not ever seen another set like this.

  Actually that is a good point about the way they would end like sleeves on the arm, Linda. I had not thought of that, and I feel your comment improves the shape for me, functionally (aesthetically it was good anyway). I too haven't seen any others.

  Note the band of caligraphy. I had not had them translated before I sold them. I only had them for one hour at an opening and had been shipped them several hours before from Indonesia...

  the calligraphy is just the repetition of the world "allah" on and on.

  You can not expect less from the first indonesians to adopt islam :-)

   I sold them to a Jewish client who buys many beautiful  Islamic items. It is interesting how many Jewish clients buy really incredible Islamic art, and  also Christian art. I think it is a shame that there is so much similarity of people, the joy of enjoying each others diversities and differences as well,  yet there is so much strife.  Thanks for letting me know, It is a lovely thing to be able to be able to praise God daily like that so beautifuly and silently .

  I like these more and more the more I look at them, and the more I learn about them from the comments made.
