  • Lovely find, Eva!

  • @thank you Betty, these are from member Nathalie Wijkers, who showed them here.......... that is how I got them. At the moment, it seems for Ethiopian items Etsy is  a  better place than Ebay.....  But she got them from a fleamarket! Our fleamarkets open only in late spring......but I decided already to look around there too, this summer.

  • A nice addition. Do you happen to use them for your hair do Eva ?

  • @thanks Alaa eddine,  I did use some for my own hair (in summer when I put it up because of the heat), but I got too afraid of losing them..  so I stopped this.  Perhaps on a courageous day sometime, I might try it  again.

  • Beautiful. So delicate. Love the filigreed ones. And sunny -African!- background...Am so glad you've restarted posting your little treasures.

  • Dear Eva; These hair pins are just delicious - wonderful! Congratulations. Peter
  • @Thank you all for the comments!  In fact, it is about one year that I did not find any Ethiopian hairpins....so I was quite lucky.  I have not seen the filigree type before, while I had some of the simple type at left already.  But nevertheless, I was very happy to get them all. The bracelet was bought in Ethiopia, but is not silver and Yemeni style, but Ethiopians consider it as Ethiopian, as this seems to  be used a lot in Ethiopia. I just used it for decoration, I have it since about 2 years.

  • You have a great hairpin collection, Eva, and you are right, it is not so easy to find Ethiopian pieces at the moment. A got lucky a while ago and found a few wonderful things. Will post them, these days. Thanks again for showing the new hairpins! You should wear them - I wear mine all the time and so far have not lost one :-)

  • @thanks Betty!  I am looking forward to your posts!  Happy Easter!

  • Eva, what a beautiful picture of your hairpins. Congratulations on this recent find. I love the filigree ones.
