Here is mine from my private collection.

A head band from south Morocco.

I like the fact that it bears both niello and enamel and also that it is very fragile and light while it emanates great power and presence. i love the coulours especially the sky blue

This piece I bought in Kabul in the famous chicken street!! It was quite soon after a bomb attach, and foreigners were strongly advised to to go there!! But i just could not resist!! And the excitement of going there made this piece of men jewel very special to me!!!

I have a simple Tuareg bracelet, it is low grade silver, but it was given to me as a gift the first time I visited Morocco....I still always wear it ( 13 years! )  it has little value and is fairly crude, but was an act of pure generosity from a stranger. I love it for the purity of the moment and the fact it keeps me grounded in those early days of wonder and joy at the country I have come to love.

It's very hard to choose a favorite and even on this site alone I have found many superb items that I would like to own. Having said that, I am a huge huge fan of Mongolian jewelry and it's my dream that one day I will be able to add a Mongolian headdress to my collection. Below is a fantastic example of such. There are as many styles as there are Mongolian tribes. sadly there are very few left, most are in musea and in private collections. Rarely does one come available on the market.

Impossible to choose a favourite from my current possessions Ayis, but very high on my wishlist is one of those Kabyle necklaces on steroids :) As well as those beautiful granulated south Indian silver bangles...Well, I better stop now before this becomes an out-of-control list.
